Once upon a time, in the vast expanse of online dating, destiny intervened and brought together two souls meant to be. While sitting on her couch in Los Angeles  early summer 2019, Brandii, disillusioned with the dating scene in LA (and the United States for that matter), and fueled by her adventurous spirit, decided to give love another chance (internationally) and embarked on a journey into the realm of Hinge. Little did she know that her search would take her from Nigeria to Ghana, from London to Spain, until fate whispered to her heart to try Rome, Italy…where a serendipitous connection awaited her. Across the digital landscape, a young man named Kiage had just joined Hinge while pursuing his studies in Rome, unknowingly crossing paths with Brandii.

In those early days, the world seemed to play a clever game, teasing Brandii with misunderstandings. Pronouncing Kiage as Cage, she believed him to reside in Rome, centuries away from her own abode. Yet, undeterred, they embarked on profound conversations that lasted well into the night, unraveling the mysteries of their lives and forging an unbreakable bond. Mark's sincere nature and his desire for a lifetime partnership resonated with Brandii, while Mark fell head over heels for Brandii’s Southern accent.  It was during those calls that Brandii learned Kiage was Mark’s middle name and she stumbled upon another surprise - Mark was already scheduled to come to Los Angeles for a summer internship that summer.  It was a serendipitous turn of events that destiny had seamlessly orchestrated. Fate had brought them together, even though their paths were set to cross continents instead of joining them in Rome.

Ten days after Mark arrived in Los Angeles, fate smiled upon them once more; Brandii realized Mark's true worth when she fell ill with a severe bout of food poisoning. Mark's unwavering support and care went beyond mere kindness, affirming the depth of his feelings for her. That’s when Brandii knew she’d met someone special. Brandii and Mark continued to spend that glorious summer inseparable which continued through the fall and for the next  3 years.   In the sacred month of July 2022, Mark knelt before Brandii and friends, and with the blessing of Brandii’s parents,  asked Brandii to marry him. 

Now, as their wedding day approaches,  Brandii and Mark's story serves as a reminder that love transcends borders and defies expectations. Their tale is a tribute to the beauty of unexpected connections, where two souls found each other amidst the chaos of a modern world, showing that even amidst the complexities of life, love can prevail.
